Early Learning at Ellison (Toddlers and Preschool)

At Ellison, we think twos are terrific! They are on the move, newly independent and ready to take on the world. At Ellison, we’re ready to help them do just that. The newly developed Toddler Program at Ellison goes way beyond day care to include an introduction to developmental language and math concepts in a small, stimulating class setting managed by teachers who are both caring and nurturing—and ready for some fun!

In addition to exploring basic academic concepts, the children will also begin developing important social skills and healthy habits as they share and play with their new friends. They will learn to use utensils, drink from a "big kid" cup, participate as part of a group in circle time, as well as strengthen their fine and gross motor skills. Teachers will also assist with potty training. Ellison’s Toddler Program includes physical education, music and storytelling classes multiple times each week. Full- and part-time options are available and both early morning and late afternoon care is included in the cost of tuition.

Pre-K3
Our three-year-old students are raring to go and so are we! The Pre-K3 program takes an interactive approach to teaching letters, numbers, shapes and colors. The curriculum also introduces early science and math concepts, and offers activities designed to strengthen fine and gross motor skills, self-expression and self-confidence. The children learn about weather, animals, community helpers, transportation, holidays and nature. Finally, Ellison’s Pre-K3 program reinforces healthy habits, good manners, and many other social skills.

Pre-K4
Believe it or not, Kindergarten is coming – and we make sure all Pre-K4 students are ready! Students review and build upon their knowledge of letters, numbers, shapes and colors, as well as explore the early science and math concepts they’ll need as they enter Kindergarten.

School days are filled with fun, non-stop activity designed to capture the unique spirit, enthusiasm and endless wonder of these very special youngsters. Through planned activities, children are encouraged to explore, create, communicate, question, solve problems, think, reason, and socialize. Children also learn to create unique stories through daily journals filled with their precious hand-drawn pictures, explained in their own words.
